Shannon and Carrie Lewis and their 3 boys, Walker, Davis, and Benton live in East Africa. They use One World Sports as a platform to build relationships through sports, education, and healthcare and to bring peace among a mixture of different people groups. The Lewis's have been extremely busy and experienced some great success over the past 2 years. Already, God has used them to build a basketball/volleyball court and a library in a semi-slum area. The Lord is using their family and these facilities to reach the lost and bring people together using sports and education. Shannon and his boys are using football (soccer) to pull three different communities together through offering coaches training at the national level. Carrie and Shannon have taught first-aid courses throughout the community, and Carrie is deeply involved in her ESL (English as. a Second Language) classes in another nearby community.

Opportunities to fund projects:
Blessing Baskets- funds needed $1500
This project will utilize the coaches that have completed the national certificate training. 60 coaches from three different communities will identify a few players from each team that are in need. We will visit the players home to deliver a small food basket along with the opportunity to pray and share.

One World Sports Annual Basketball Tournament-funds needed $1500
We will put on an annual basketball tournament on our new court drawing teams from the surrounding communities. We will involve area churches so they can use it as an outreach event.

Sports Balls Fund - donate a ball
We are always in need of help to purchase sports equipment such as new nets for basketball, volleyball, and football. We also need new basketballs, footballs, and volleyballs.

Sample trip to East Africa
Most trips are typically 7-10 days including travel. A trip will include a day of orientation, a day of rest/fun, and the rest of the time ministry opportunities. This can include conducting a certain training such as a coaches clinic, sports talk, team training, referee training, ect. It can also include discipling a group of believers, prayer walking neighborhoods, or hanging out with lost people and sharing over a cup of coffee.
